China’s number one app WeChat now has 902 million active daily users, who sent 38 billion messages each day on average, according to the latest report.
The WeChat 2017 Data report, which was released at the Tencent Global Partner Conference, revealed that total daily active users in September 2017 increased by 17% over the previous year, while the average messages increased 25% year-on-year.
WeChat Official Accounts increased by 14% to 3.5 million, providing even more reasons for brands and marketers to ensure they are investing in engaging strategies and content to connect with consumers.
WeChat Official Accounts monthly active users (MAUs) were also up in 2017 totalling 797 million.
WeChat now boasts 50 million senior users aged between 55 and 70 years in a sign that the app is no longer a millennial focused platform.
WeChat payments also increased in 2017, total monthly social transactions grew 23% while total monthly offline transactions increased 280%.
