United Media Solution (UMS) has expanded its Business Development team, as it continues to grow its Melbourne office.
Tang Yi joins as Business Development Manager, responsible for driving new business growth with Australian companies looking to target the China market. Yi will be based in UMS Melbourne office and will work alongside UMS Australia Business Development Manager’s Eric Yu and Jo Ruo to help build the Australian arm of the business.
She will also work with UMS’ International Business Development team across its offices in Auckland, Shanghai and Ningbo, and will report to UMS Chief Executive Officer Jessica Miao.
Yi brings a wealth of knowledge of both the Australian and China markets gained from working as China Brand Ambassador for Brown Brothers, in a role that saw her based in Melbourne and Shanghai during her four years with the company.
Prior to this, she was Business Development Manager for the Victorian Chapter of the Australia China Business Council and Event Manager for Asialink at the University of Melbourne. She also served as Senior Account Executive at Bastion China, part of the Bastion Collective Group.
Jessica Miao, Chief Executive Officer, UMS, said, “We are really excited to welcome Tang to the team as she brings a wealth of knowledge of both the Australian and China markets. Who better to help brands understand the complex Chinese digital marketing landscape than someone who spent two years on the ground here in Shanghai building an Australian brand?”
“Our Melbourne operation is growing quickly and working alongside Eric and Jo, we are confident Tang will help UMS to continue its strong trajectory as we help more Australian businesses to connect with Chinese consumers,” said Miao.
Tang Yi, Business Development Manager, UMS, said, “UMS is a team of impeccable talent with a comprehensive understanding of the market and the unique skills to execute the most effective e-marketing to Chinese consumers.”
“My previous roles have equipped me with the capability to translate the needs of Australian brands to reflect Chinese consumers’ tastes while maintaining the genuine essence of these brands. I look forward to assisting more Australian brands to grow in the Chinese market, and among the local Chinese community here in Australia.”
UMS Melbourne opened its doors in January 2018 and is the fourth office for the Chinese digital agency, which also has offices in Auckland, Shanghai and Ningbo.
UMS currently work with a host of international companies such as, Air New Zealand, CTS Tours, Harrolds, Education New Zealand, Prolife Foods, Skycity, Sydney Business Events, THL, Tourism New Zealand and Vodafone, to develop strategic and creative communications for the China market.
